Brad Batt and his daughter at Towne Acres Elementary

Public education must be a top priority for our state.

Tennessee has the money to invest in education without raising taxes, but our state government has failed to act. Instead, we have teachers buying supplies using money from their own pockets.

Tennessee is currently:

🏫 43rd in nation in Overall Funding
πŸ“šΒ 47th in nation in Effort
πŸ‘¨πŸ½β€πŸŽ“ 45th in Spending Per Pupil

Our current legislature is earning an β€œF” when it comes to education in Tennessee.

We are failing our teachers. We are failing our students. And our state is failing us.

We don’t have time for a misguided voucher experiment that steals public funds and redirects into to the private sector. We need to fully fund public education, give our teachers the long-awaited raises they deserve, and ensure every child in Tennessee receives a world-class education.

We thank every teacher out there who steps up for their students. It’s time our legislature did the same.
